Put Summer Safety First with Queensland First Aid
Queensland First Aid are offering FREE sixty minute safety information courses before Christmas for parents, family members, friends and pool owners who want to keep our children safe. According to Dr Ruth Barker, from the Queensland Injury Surveillance Unit at Mater Children’s Hospital, drowning has been the leading cause of death for children under five since 1983 and Queensland First Aid want to help members of the community lower this statistic by arming them with the right knowledge to save a life. Queensland First Aid managing director, Garry Draper agrees that parents can significantly decrease the risk of fatality in their homes by taking a day out to do a first aid course. “It is a parent’s worst fear to not be able to help their child. At Queensland First Aid we want to make it as easy as possible for every parent to learn the essential skills to be able to care for their child, and potentially, save their life.”
Queensland First Aid is offering two FREE sixty minute safety information sessions at their Newmarket and Browns Plains locations in December to further inform people about first aid training and Summer safety.
