An Aussie Day bash to knock your thongs off!

White sand, clear skies and smiley-faced meat pies are the things Moreton Island Adventures (M.I.A) are made of, and this Australia Day they are turning up the heat – with a Barefoot Beach Barbeque bold enough to knock the thongs off any true blue Aussie.

Despite the Island’s long held popularity as an Australia Day destination, the Barefoot Beach BBQ is the first organised event M.I.A have thrown for the celebration. Clean and simple fun will be the name of the game at this all-Australian event with a focus on beach sports, music and delicious BBQ tucker, and little Aussies will be in their element with a range of activities including free face painting on board the iconic Micat ferry.

Chief Executive Officer of Moreton Island Adventures, Roz Shaw, says the day is a great way to highlight the Aussie culture, whilst enjoying all the island has to offer. “Australia Day on Moreton Island means barbeques, beach sports and time to sit back and take in the beautiful scenery – who wouldn’t want to do that on their day off!

“I am grateful for the country we live in, so why not celebrate it the right way – which is why we have everything covered – from transport, to food, to accommodation facilities (as an added cost) and entertainment – who wouldn’t want to spend Australia Day with us at Moreton Island.”

Tickets include a return Micat transfer to Moreton Island, BBQ lunch, and beach activities for young and old!
