About Desmore

Desmore Nero’s passion and love of fashion and beauty inspired her to launch her website. She enjoys helping Mothers look good and feel fabulous through helpful styling tips, beauty advice and inspiration.

Desmore’s highlight of her earlier career in Cape Town, South Africa was when she staged an events night of glitz and glamour for her Foschini customers, showcasing the various fashionable lingerie styles. This event turned out to be an enormous success, becoming the first staff member in the Foschini retail company to attempt an event of this nature.  As a result Desmore was then asked to assist with the opening event of the now very chic La Zenza Lingerie store. Her success landed her a celebrity spot on a major Cape Town radio talk show where she was named Cape Town’s Inspirational woman of the month.

After many years of working in the fashion retail industry, she moved on to a customer relations role, working at the Sanctuary Spa, Twelve Apostles Hotel, a 5 star Hotel and Spa located on the coast near Camps Bay.

This opportunity introduced to her a new type of client to deal with ie. the celebrity status customer. Desmore was fortunate to interact with diplomatic heads of state, influential business, entertainment and sporting celebrities. Desmore believed that no matter who you are your need for good customer service does not change.  Whilst working in this environment she decided to pursue a career in PR, studying part-time towards her degree. Having a certificate in Public Relations and Marketing Management already, meant that PR was yet another big interest and passion.

Desmore had known that her love of styling, her passion for fashion and beauty was a burning desire just waiting to be discovered. Having traveled to Paris, London and several other countries, the excitement of world trends only increased her growing interest in the fashion industry.  The most cherished moments in her career were the one’s spent working long hard hours and many years within the retail industry.  She has gained a world of knowledge that she will forever be thankful for.

Desmore Nero’s passion and love of fashion and beauty inspired her to launch her website in April 2011. She enjoys helping Mothers look good and feel fabulous through helpful styling tips, beauty advice and inspiration.

Her goal is to give her readers the tools to step out into the world with confidence and enthusiasm. Empowering them to walk tall, love their bodies, enjoy life and feel inspired.

Her son plays a huge part in her life; he is the reason why she has created her website. “Callum inspires me everyday and I feel so blessed and privileged to have him in my life”, says Desmore.

I am blessed to have known Desmore Samios for a number of years and have watched her transform and evolve from a brilliant, determined, inspired and inspiring young woman into a brilliant, beautiful, inspired and inspiring, determined and successful woman, wife, mother, writer and businesswoman. My first encounter with Desmore led me to immediately invite her onto my radio show at the time to be featured in a segment on Inspiring Women.  There she gained the admiration of the audience of listeners who were bowled over by her warmth, authenticity, wit and charm and she remains indelibly in their hearts and minds.  From the instance I met Desmore, I was struck by the amazing quality of energy and light which emanated from her, by her grace, charm and quick wit and by her amazing intuitive instinct and empathy with people.

Desmore has a vision for her life and it has always included inspiring and uplifting wherever and whomever she could. There cannot be a single person who has met Desmore who has not been touched by her warmth, grace, genuineness and charm or tickled by her fine sense of humour. To me, she is a dear friend and a source of inspiration and someone who always has the courage to be true to herself and inspires others to do the same. She is unafraid of saying what needs to be said and is one of those rare people who you know will always hold up a mirror of truth and integrity. The relationships she forges with friends and business associates and now with the growing audience on her blog are authentic and grounded in integrity, warmth and care. She is a brilliant and radiant light in this world and a powerful and inspiring woman, who continues to grow from strength to strength, inspiring and uplifting all who come into contact with her.  Her blog is an extension of Desmore herself and a brilliant example of an individual who is committed to sharing and inspiring in her own unique way and its continued growth is testament to the fact that she is someone who has something worthwhile to share with this world and that all who hear her message can only but benefit from it.

In her position as a Lingerie Department Manager, Desmore did an excellent job in this position and was an asset to our organization during her working period. She had excellent written and verbal communication skills, is extremely organized and good at managing events. She enjoys her work projects to reflect how important a business image is to the external public and to senior staff members visiting her department. During her work period at Foschini, Desmore was responsible for managing the department’s merchandising, in store promotions, turnover, communicating with buyers, suppliers, Floor and Store Managers regarding customer feedback and which products would generate the most turnover, also doing client research to establish what they would like to see in our stores and what they are not happy with. Desmore was always willing to do her best and go the extra mile.

“I must really say excluding the Shops in the “Platteland”, this was the biggest success I have ever seen regarding Branch promotions. At the end of the day it was her initiative.”
